What is considered low carb?

A low-carb diet usually limits carbohydrate intake to 60-100 grams daily. A keto diet further restricts carbs to 20-50 grams daily. Many low-carb diets restrict carbs at the start and gradually increase them later. A low-carb diet emphasizes proteins and non-starchy vegetables and usually restricts grains, legumes, fruits, breads, sweets, pastas, and starchy vegetables. However, some low-carb plans permit small quantities of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.

Is gluten-free low-carb?

Gluten-free is not the same thing as low carb, as the gluten-free diet does not restrict other whole grains, beans, breads, fruit, and starchy vegetables.
