Say hello to our favorite strawberry margarita recipe made with fresh, ripe, juicy strawberries. These “frozen” strawberry margaritas are light and refreshing, naturally sweetened, and nicely balanced with the best flavor!
Happy Strawberry Moon! Let’s celebrate strawberry season with this fresh strawberry margarita recipe- so incredibly light and refreshing! We love using fresh farmer’s market strawberries, so sweet and juicy right now. Together with a little tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice and just a touch of sweetener (honey simple syrup or maple syrup) it goes down a little too easily.
Fresh Strawberry Margarita Ingredients
- Fresh Strawberries– get the most juicy, ripe, sweet strawberries you can find. Opt for organic because conventional strawberries are heavily treated with herbicides. Best bet? Get them from your farmer’s market!
- Tequilla- For delicious Margaritas, opt for Blanco and Reposado Tequila, both work great here.
- Orange Liqueur – Grand Marnier, Triple Sec or most any orange liqueur will work here.
- Limes – check for ripeness, are they soft?
- Sweetener- Instead of simple syrup, we naturally sweeten with agave syrup, honey or even maple syrup.
How to make Fresh Strawberry Margaritas
Place your juicy ripe strawberries in a blender.
Add tequila, orange liqueur (or triple sec) fresh lime juice and sweetener of choice.
Blend until smooth.
At this point, you could put this in the fridge for later, or add the ice and get it frosty!
Once the ice is added, blend until it’s like the most delicious-looking slushie ever.
How to Serve Strawberry Margaritas
Oh! And if you have kids or want a virgin version of this try this Strawberry Slushie!
Make a sugar rim if you like, rubbing the rim with the spent lime halves, and dipping in sugar.
A delicious, 5-minute cocktail, perfect for 2.
Why I love Mason Jar Margaritas!
And if you serve them in a mason jar, they are packable. Perfect for that sunset cocktail somewhere outdoors! 😉

Description
Here is the BEST Strawberry Margarita recipe, using ripe, juicy, in-season strawberries! These blended Strawberry Margaritas are light and refreshing and go down a little too easy! Naturally sweetened, nicely balanced with the best flavor!
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries (10-12 ounces)
- 1/2 cup tequila ( light-colored is better here)
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur (or triple sec)
- 3 tablespoons lime juice
- 3 tablespoons honey, maple or agave
- ——
- 3 cups ice
Make a sugar rim if you like, rubbing the rim with the spent lime halves, and dipping in sugar.
Instructions
- Blend strawberries, tequila, orange liqueur, lime and honey until smooth. (You could do this ahead and refrigerate until ready to serve.)
- Add ice and blend until smooth and slushy-like. Pour into 2-3 glasses.
- Drink immediately.
Notes
I love adding basil leaves to this, but was out and didn’t want to make a special trip to store. Cilantro or mint could be nice too. A squeeze of orange juice is also tasty. Play around and have fun with it.
Of course if you want it more boozy, or less boozy, adjust to taste. I’ve found that equal parts lime juice and sweetener are the perfect balance. Do as you like.

Delicious on a warm summer day!
Great to hear Jen!
Strawberries are pretty much done here but yesterday I managed to get a box of a variety called Malwina from a small local farm market. They were the deepest darkest red and made gorgeous margaritas. Used maple syrup because I didn’t have agave but otherwise followed the recipe as written and they were perfect and not too sweet. Will definitely make them again next year when local strawberries are in season .
Awesome to hear Lyn! Those strawberries sound absolutely heavenly.
Easy to make, nice and tasty, I made it a little stronger and added a pinch of chili to make it a chill strawberry margarita!
Yum, chili sounds fun!
This recipe produced delightful and very tasty margaritas. Didn’t have fresh lime, I just used a margarita mixer I had on hand. Do not leave out the agave or other sweetener!
These are simply the best strawberry margaritas you will ever have! They are easy to make and a huge crowd pleaser. I’m sure you’ll want more than one! I made 2 batches which served 2 drinks each for four adults. I used agave nectar. Thanks again for another delightful recipe!
Thanks and glad you liked them!
Just made a batch of these and both my wife and I are enjoying them very much. Thanks for a simple delicious recipe.
