About Sylvia Fountaine

Creator of Feasting at Home– writer, photographer, and recipe developer since 2011.

In 1996, I left my counseling career to open a vegetarian restaurant with my high school friend, Tonia, in downtown Spokane. It was exciting and difficult, but I was young and up for the challenges! It stands behind me in the photo above.

Ten years later, I sold the restaurant to a long-time employee and took a year off to travel. I missed cooking! I started a catering business called Feast in 2008, which I ran for another 10 years.

The Feasting at Home blog was launched in 2011 as a way to share my catering recipes, and since then, it has grown into a global recipe site with over 1,400 restaurant-quality recipes and millions of visitors each month! I am forever grateful to my friend Sara Greene for encouraging me to start the blog. It truly changed my life.
