Description

This Matcha Smoothie with pineapple, banana, and spinach is delcious, healthy, and energizing, full of incredible polyphenols that slow down aging, lowers cholesterol and prevents cancer!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 banana ( frozen is nice, but fresh works too!)
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple, cut into chunks.
  • 1 cup kale or baby spinach
  • 1/2 teaspoon matcha powder, plus more to taste
  • 1/2 cup nut milk or soy milk
  • squeeze of lemon
  • Handful of ice cubes (or use frozen bananas)

Instructions

  1. Cut the pineapple and banana into chunks, and gather the smoothie ingredients.
  2. Place all the smoothie ingredients in the blender, starting conservatively with the matcha powder. Matcha is bitter, and if you are not used to it, it can be an acquired taste. Start light and add more to taste.
  3. Blend until very smooth.
  4. Taste and add more matcha powder if you like. If the flavor tastes bitter, you can add a little honey or maple syrup to balance this out.
  5. Blend in a few ice cubes to make this extra cold and thick!
  6. Pour into glasses and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to add yogurt instead of the plant-based milk- but remember yogurt is tangy, you may need to add a little honey or maple syrup to balance this out! Vanilla yogurt is nice here.
