Description

Aromatic Shawarma Spice is easy to make at home! Use this Middle Eastern seasoning on roasted chickpeas, vegetables, chicken, fish, lamb, and meats.


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons ground cumin
  • 2 tablespoons ground coriander
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (more to taste)


Instructions

  1. Combine all the spices in a bowl.
  2. Store in a sealed airtight container or jar at room temperature. 

Notes

Use good quaility fresh spices. Best used within 1 month or freeze for a longer shelf life.

For even more flavor, toast whole spices (cumin, coriander, and peppercorns) in a dry skillet and blend.
