Description

Celebrate the holidays with a classic Whiskey Sour made with bourbon, fresh lemon, honey syrup, and egg white—simple, silky, and perfectly festive.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 ounces Bourbon Whiskey
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 ounce honey simple syrup (see note)
  • 1 egg white
  • Garnish: Luxardo cherry, lemon peel

Serve in a coupe glass.Ā

Instructions

  1. Add ingredients to the shaker. Place bourbon whiskey, lemon juice, honey, simple syrup, and one large egg white in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake dry. Shake without ice.
  3. Shake with ice. Then add ice, shake hard for a full minute. This will make the egg white frothy and light.Ā
  4. Strain. Strain into a coupe glass —we are aiming for a good layer of froth here!
  5. Garnish. Garnish with a luxardo cherry (skewered) and/or lemon peelĀ

Notes

Honey simple syrup is made with one part honey and one part water.Ā  To make 1 ounce of honey simple syrup mixĀ  1 tablespoon honey with 1 tablespoon water. You won’t need the whole ounce for this recipe. (If you want to be very precise, mix ¾ tablespoons honey with ¾ tablespoon waterĀ  to make ¾ ounce of honey simple syrup.)

Variations: Try Japanese whiskey and yuzu juice for a fun twist. Or serve it in a rocks glass over a large ice cube.Ā
